Have you registered for the annual conference?  The deadline for discount
pre-registration rates is February 10, 1998.

The ARLIS/NA 26th Annual Conference is less than two months away.  It
promises to be an exciting opportunity to learn about issues and trends in
art librarianship as well as to meet with colleagues and friends.  The
Visual Resources Association will be meeting in Philadelphia immediately
before ARLIS and plans include a joint welcome party (with a members' art
exhibition) and the opportunity to attend selected VRA sessions at no
additional cost.

The conference program will feature sessions to appeal to a wide variety of
professional interests and specialties.  Among them are:

--Documenting Gardens:  Researching and Preserving Landscape Designs

--Diamonds or Dinosaurs?  New Technologies in Landmark Libraries

--Education of Women in the Arts:  An Historic Overview

Tours will include the world-famous Barnes Foundation, The Conservation
Center for Art and Historic Artifacts, and picturesque Bucks County,
Pennsylvania; walking tours of the Old City and Society Hill; and bus tours
of Fairmount Park and the Architecture of Frank Furness.  Tours are filled
quickly, so early registration is encouraged.
