A slight correction to Mr. Trepanier's excellent sleuthing on the Dale
Collection de Chirico.  The painting in question is safely lodged within the
walls of the National Gallery of Art.  It was on long-term loan to an
exhibition of the Chester Dale Collection at the Art Institute  (1943-52)
before the Collection was donated to the nation.  There is a brief
bibliography available, along with an exhibition history at the National
Gallery web site ~
