I am pleased to announce that I have set up a discussion list for the
Northwest Chapter of the Art Libraries Society of North America, with the
support of Simon Fraser University Academic Computing Services.

The Northwest Chapter promotes and supports the goals of ARLIS/NA in
the Northwest region, and includes the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon,
Montana, Washington, Wyoming and the provinces of Alberta and
British Columbia.

I hope that Chapter members & others will join arlis-nw, to help facilitate
communications over such a large geographic area.  As the Northwest
Chapter is hosting the annual conference in Vancouver in March 1999, I would
like to use this forum to keep members informed, and to encourage
volunteers to come forward to work on the conference.  We can also use
this list for announcements of meetings, or any other items of interest.

Arlis-nw is an open, unmoderated list, and uses majordomo software.
