        Dear Colleagues,

        If you are not already aware of this, the Canadian Postal Workers
have been on strike for almost a week.  Just think of all those journals
piling up!

        Roger Lawson, with the consensus of the Executive Board has
authorized  an extension of the postmark deadline for Canadian members
voting in the ARLIS election.  Canadian ballots received with a postmark of
December 5 or earlier will be counted.  This ruling is, of course, hopeful
of a quick settlement or a back to work order.

        I hope you're not expecting any Christmas Cards from Canada this year.
