College and Research Libraries, New York chapter annual symposium. The
all-day symposium will be held on Friday, November 21, 1997, at the
Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. The Symposium
speakers will represent a spectrum of views on the future of the book:
historical perspectives, the shifting present, technological promise,
issues in publishing, and choices that librarians confront regarding
computerized and print resources.

Libraries" will be our two keynote speakers. Panelists will include Carla
Hesse, historian from the University of California at Berkeley; Janice E.
Kuta, President of Stockton Press; and Marianne Gaunt, University
Librarian at Rutgers University.

keynote speakers will each speak for approximately 45 minutes from 9:45 to
ll:45 a.m.., followed by a questiona and answer period. Lunch at Binsky's
will be from 12 to 1:30 p.m. The afternoon panelists will speak from 1:30
to 2:30 p.m., with a discussion period following. A wine and cheese
