----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Our financial administrators have decided to switch over to the system of accrual accounting, which means everything we "own" has to be given some monetary value as assets. While the curators are wrestling with the valuation of art works, I have to find out what our library stock is worth. As an art museum library over 100 years old, we have the usual monographs (27,000 volumes), periodicals, sales catalogues and ephemera, and odds and ends. There would be some old and rare books in this lot. Has anybody done this particular exercise? If so, can you please tell me how you went about it? Many thanks for any help you can give.
