----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Dear ARLIS friends and colleagues, In today's _NY Times book review_ (24 August), Michael Kimmelman reviews _The dictionary of art_. His review is strong and he has some good thoughts about the dictionary itself. Along the path of his review, he also talks about the nature of reference questions and serendipity and of the difference between analog and digital resources. The accompanying drawing by Dusan Petricic is pretty good too; modem man has future anxiety, I think. It's a good read, even if most of your beach time has already been spent.
