After two years of exemplary service as editor of the ARLIS-L Update column
in the Society newsletter, Claire Eike would like to turn the column over to
someone else. Her invitation to potential successors will appear in the
forthcoming August issue of Update, but I thought I'd also put an advance
copy out on ARLIS-L:

Your Turn Now?
        For the past two years I've enjoyed writing this column, but now it's time
to let someone else do the honors.  Interested parties may send a writing
sample to the Update editor, Linda Zieper, at <a href="/scripts/wa.exe?LOGON=A3%3Dind9707%26L%3DARLIS-L%26E%3D7BIT%26P%3D372542%26B%3D--%26T%3Dtext%252FplainTEXT%252FPLAIN%3B%2520charset%3DUS-ASCII%26pending%3D" target="_parent" >[log in to unmask]</a>  The
sample should be the approximate length of an ARLIS-L Digest column,
e-mailed to Linda as unformatted text.   The successful applicant will
submit a column of  750-1000 words on the 10th of every other month
(October, December, February, etc.) in which recent subjects of discussion
on the ARLIS-L listserv are recapped, highlighted and/or analyzed.  A
minimum commitment of one year is expected.

I look forward to hearing from anyone who is interested in taking over this
responsibility.
