Each position reports to the Chair of Social Sciences/Humanities Libraries. 1) HUMANITIES REFERENCE LIBRARIAN with emphasis in the fine arts. RESPONSIBILITIES include: 1) providing reference services in the humanities and social sciences, with emphasis in the fine arts (includes some evenings and weekends); 2) developing and presenting library user instruction; 3) working in partnership with faculty in assigned academic departments; 4) collection management in the fine arts; 5) demonstrating initiative, flexibility, cooperation in a team environment; 6) developing professionally. QUALIFICATIONS: Required; ALA-accredited MLS; knowledge of subject literature in music and/or other fine/performance art fields; excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred: Second masters degree in related subject; instructional education or experience; media education or experience; library automation knowledge; knowledge of book trade and acquisitions processes; reading knowledge of romance or other European language(s); ability to participate in a team environment. 2) SOCIAL SCIENCES REFERENCE LIBRARIAN with emphasis in the behavioral sciences/economics. RESPONSIBILITIES include: 1) providing reference services in the social sciences and humanities, with emphasis in the behavioral sciences and/or economics (includes some evenings and weekends); 2) developing and presenting library user instruction; 3)working in partnership with faculty in assigned academic departments; 4) collection management in the behavioral sciences/economics; 5) demonstrating initiative, flexibility, cooperation in a team environment; 6) developing professionally.
