Dear colleagues,

See below for difference between Association of Art Historians (AAH) and

Subject: "Art History" Address

The various contact details for "Art History" - a publication of the
Association of Art Historians (AAH) - can be found at the Association's
website which I manage. The home page is at:

        http://www.gold.ac.uk/aah

>From there it is straightforward to navigate to the "Art History" info
page. The site is relatively new and so still in a development phase
(though it does function perfectly well), so any feedback would be very
welcome.

Whilst writing I should clear up some potential confusion. The
Association of Art Historians is a UK based organisation founded in 1974
to promote art history in the UK and internationally. It uses the acronym
AAH and has done for quite some time.

At the beginning of June I received an email via the CAAH list from Bruce
Cole which mentioned the Association for Art History. Judging by its
email address, it appears to use the same acronym:

> Bruce Cole Co-President
> Association for Art History
> 812-855-5193
> [log in to unmask]

This organisation has no connection with the UK based AAH. I don't think
it constructive to get into debates about intellectual property here, but
would just like to stress that the organisations are distinct, whilst both
obviously share a concern for art history.

I'd like to know a bit more about the Association FOR Art HISTORY. How is
it related to the CAA? What is its history? How long has it been in
existence? Is it an association for people from a distinct constituency
who are not included in the CAA's membership? What impact has it/will it
have on art historical practice within the US?

Thanks for any information and for any feedback on our website.

Duncan
