The hardest thing to estimate in any insurance appraisal for library
collections, of course, is the labor and processing time to put these
collections together.  That includes cataloging time, as well as
acquisitions, and any physical processing that is necessary.  I suspect
that these "hidden" costs could add another 40%-50% to value of the
collection.  Does anyone have some hard figures on what these costs could
add up to?
