I would be very interested to know if the art collection of the public
library were to be transferred to the University, would the public still
have unrestricted access to the materials as they did prior to the move?
Most universities with which I am acquainted do not permit the public at
large to borrow materials, although I know there are exceptions. Also, if
these are materials purchased with public funds, where is the
justification for deaccessing them?
