The Association of Research Libraries invites registrations for its dynamic
new leadership institute.

This Institute seeks to develop skills crucial to the understanding and
full optimization of change in organizations. Unlike many other workshops
which address the issue of change, this Institute does not focus on how to
"cope" but how to lead during times of active change through understanding
and through clear diagnosis of the many different types of change.

LEADING CHANGE INSTITUTE
May 6-7, Washington, DC

Because change is a constant in every library environment, we all need
to learn how to manage and lead change effectively and how to gain the support
of key stakeholders during change efforts. This Institute will
provide participants the opportunity to examine the dynamics of
change, to consider new approaches, to gain skills in making judgments
and decisions while preparing for the next wave of change, and to
learn and practice the methods and strategies of implementing
successful change efforts. Ample opportunity will be devoted to skill
practice and the application of concepts to participants' own work.
