Dear Colleagues

I am interested in compiling a list of photographers whose work is
regarded as largely autobiographical. There does not seem to be an LC
subject heading for this yet. The "Photography--Biography" heading
has a different scope, and I suspect that these sorts of books are being
given diverse headings such as "Portrait photography" or even "Documentary
photography". I get the impression that there is an increasing contemporary
emphasis on autobiographical photography, but it is hard to find without a
specific LC heading.

This subject is being taught at the School of Fine Arts here, and I
am getting an increasing number of student requests for books which
provide examples of it. I would appreciate hearing from art
librarians whose institutions teach courses in this area, especially
if they can provide me with photographers' names and/or titles to follow up.
It would be interesting to know if anyone else has experience of
similar difficulties.

Apologies to those who receive this on both ARLIS-L and ARLISANZ-L.

Thanks in advance for any help received,
Max
