----------------------------Original message---------------------------- We use this book at the reference desk: "Key dates in art history from 600BC to the present," by Mair, Roslin; published Oxford: Phaidon, 1979, 96p. It covers painting, architecture, and sculpture. It is a chronological list of "the most important" individual works of art, so it omits movements and schools. However, movements and schools are identified where appropriate within the description of individual works. Illustrations accompany each period.
