When I last spoke to an H.W. Wilson rep. I suggested that they consider
offering the retrospective files as a second subscription, and start going
back from 1984, without worrying about doing it all at once.  Now that I
think it over, maybe going forward from 1929 rather than back from 1984
would be more useful!  In any case, I'd rather see the whole index done,
volume by volume, rather than title by title, since part of what's
interesting (at least to me) is trends in scholarship & publishing.  And
some of us use the art index for related disciplines which are not "art"
(city planning, museology, etc.)
