----------------------------Original message---------------------------- We send our students across the street for colour copies -- we do not, as yet, have a self-serve colour copier on the premises. The guy across the street is more than happy for the business and has become amazingly proficient at producing copies for the students -- the last time I was there he was copying an image onto a paper bag for a student project. His business is steady all-day-long and this keeps his prices down. He also makes few mistakes because he knows the copier --- We considered leasing a colour copier for the Library but decided against it because of the amount of hand-holding, explaining and fixing that would be involved -- Instead, we are installing a scanner which will enable students to scan images out of books or periodicals and send them up to our Academic Computer Centre where they can manipulate them, appropriate them or print them for class projects.
