More easily digested is the simple 2 page time line of American architecture in Old House Journal Mar/Apr 1987 pp.40-41. The Costume Timeline (5000 Years of Fashion History) by Claudia Muller is heavily illustrated (in color) and pulls out into a single sheet of paper as a proper timeline should.
