----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Does anyone know of a graphical price index for the period of 1940-1996? I'm looking for something EXACTLY like the graph in the October 1996 Art Newspaper (p. 38) but for a longer period. I also have Geraldine Keen's book, _The sale of works of art_, which covers the 50s through the late 60s. If that's all there is, I can live with it. A call to Sotheby's got an answer that they have not done this sort of thing for over 7 years. I'd appreciate any clues. Thanks in advance. Anne O.
