The Cataloging Section of ARLIS/NA is forming a working group to
coordinate authority control on the Society's membership database.
The goal is to make this database a comprehensive, versatile, and
authoritative source of information from which (for example) the
annual ARLIS/NA directory will be generated.

The Section seeks volunteers for the working group.  This is an
opportunity to not only improve a reference work we all use -- the
annual ARLIS/NA Handbook and Membership Directory -- but to make a
lasting contribution to the Society by helping standardize the
database.
