----------------------------Original message---------------------------- With over 150 abstracted reviews of recent European reference books, the latest issue of Reference Reviews Europe/IFB Abstracts (1996, nos. 2/3) focusses on reference materials pertaining to works from France and Italy, especially literary dictionaries, guides, and bibliographies. There are also reviews of a wide range of other reference books of interest to American college and university libraries, including works about women composers, a French dictionary of twentieth century fashion, and an English-language "Who Was Who" in linguistics, published in Germany. As always, you will also find a number of titles specifically relevant to the interests of art librarians. RRE/IFBA's homepage can be reached at http://www.library.upenn.edu/ifba. Please note that these abstracts are now cumulated in an annual in print format, REFERENCE REVIEWS EUROPE ANNUAL. An order form is provided by the Web version. RRE/IFBA is beginning to receive favorable attention in the library press. In its December issue, C&RL NEWS describes it as "very substantial ... both attractive and utilitarian ... Reference librarians, acquisitions librarians, and serious students of European culture will want to visit this site often." And the current issue of AMERICAN LIBRARIES (December 1996) includes REFERENCE REVIEWS EUROPE ANNUAL in its "Librarian's Library."
