Hi,

We have been asked for information on the artist John P. Otterson. There is a
painting of an early steam boat on the Ohio River hanging in the Carnegie
Museum of Natural History as part of their transportation display.

The volunteer has been unable to fine any biographical information on him
except that he is listed in some 19th century city directories of the
Allegheny section of Pittsburgh. She could find nothing in the Museum archives.

I can find nothing in our files, either local or general.

I was hoping that he may have moved on "down river" and that someone could
supply us with some biographical information.

Thanks for your attention.
