You might try contacting the Rochester Institute of Technology, 1 Lomb
Memorial Drive, Rochester, NY  14623.   They do offer a degree now and
with Kodak as the lead employer in Rochester, they may have led the way.
 They were formerly called the Mechanics Institute (early in this
century).

I have been asked by one of our administrators if I knew which college
in
the US was the first to grant a degree in photography.  I have looked
through some histories of photography and get the impression that it
probably was a technology college/university.  Any leads will be greatly
