----------------------------Original message---------------------------- Dear ARLIS/NA & ARLIS-L Colleagues, I'd like to add a "credits and kudos" note to Ed's message about new significant content on the ARLIS/NA web site. 25th ANNUAL CONFERENCE: The Preliminary Program is currently under review/revision; it will be printed and mailed to ARLIS/NA members in early December. Conference co-chairs for local arrangements are Robert Beebe and Ann Jones; co-chairs for program Jeannette Dixon and Allen Townsend. Many others in the Texas Chapter are also participating, and I commend the efforts to date of the four co-chairs as well as Pat Blackman (tours), Sam Duncan (internet room), Phil Heagy (exhibits), Milan Hughston (fund raising), Laura Schwartz (registration), Marti Stein (hospitality suite), and Janine Henri (Texas Chapter President, and Executive Board Regional Representative to the South Region). STRATEGIC PLAN: Paper copies of the updated Plan will soon be mailed to all group leaders and paper copies will be available upon request from HQ (for any who cannot retrieve it from the web site, that is!). The Plan includes, as Ed indicates, several special features including the list of Action Items arranged by ARLIS/NA working group with primary responsibility for completing the action; there is also an index of all working groups with notation of Action Items with which a group will be involved on both primary and secondary levels. These documents are the cumulation of significant effort and time commitment by the Strategic Planning Task Force first charged and appointed in early 1995. I take special pleasure in recognizing the contributions of Task Force members Susan Annett, Jeanne Brown, Janis Ekdahl, Trudy Jacoby, Howard Karno, Roger Lawson, Martha Mahard, Allen Townsend, Murray Waddington, and Heidi Winston at the completion of this planning initiative. And, ... many thanks, once again, to Ed Teague for his continuous work on expanding and refining the ARLIS/NA web site! -- jack * * * * * * * * Jack Robertson ARLIS/NA President Fiske Kimball Fine Arts Library University of Virginia (804) 924-6601 [log in to unmask] ------------------------------------------ According to Edward H.
