In response to Pat's question about where to keep the Dictionary
of Art, after much dicussion we decided to keep it in our office.
At $8000, our index tables just seemed too risky--people who smuggle
in drinks frequently spill them there, and our Grove's Dictionary
of Music kept there is often subject to razor mutilation. Until we can afford
a second copy, the public will only be able to use a volume if they
give us a library card to hold in exchange.
