By my count, there were thirteen speakers or presenters, which included the artists Carm Little Turtle, Ed Singer, Rebecca Asay, and Roger Davis, a behind the scenes tour of the MNA holdings (great collections, exhibitions, etc.), and there were even brief presentations after the excellent lunches (one on two regional special libraries, always useful, and one on four members' specific experiences as editor/author, equally informative). As always, the comraderie level was extremely high, the fellowship ratings off the scale, and I must confess, speaking as a Californian, the Arizona wines quite tasty. As busy as we all are, and as difficult as it is for some to partake of the annual national conference, the Arizona folks deserve special kudos for going out on a limb and planning a mid-year, multi-chapter event. I would encourage all the chapters of ARLIS/NA to consider engaging their neighboring chapters in considering annual or biennial events of this nature. For those who have not seen it, the URL for the conference page follows: http://www.library.arizona.edu/users/alally/arlisaz/fence.htm Special thanks to the officers of the AZ chapter: Mary Graham, Chair Brooks Jeffrey, Vice Chair Genni Houlihan, Secretary/Treasurer Regards, Peter Blank -------------------------------------------------------------- Peter P.
