Thank you to everyone who responded to my questions about
alumni slide registries! What follows is a very short
summary:

11 people responded to my questions

9 colleges/universities maintain some sort of slide registry/
file of graduates. 6 of the 9 keep MFA slides (3
as part of their MFA thesis), and 3 gave no indication
whether the alumni were at the BFA or MFA degree level

of the 9 alumni slide files, 4 were housed in the slide library
and maintained by the slide curator; 1 was part of the
archives kept by the library; 3 were kept in the library
but not in the slide collection; and 1 was maintained by
        the Public Relations staff

most were organized by alumni name (kept in cabinets, folders, or
boxes); alumni were responsible for providing slides in
manner that they would be kept and for providing any
accompanying documentation. In two cases, the slide staff
cataloged and integrated the alumni slides into their
        collections.

Several people who responded indicated that the slide file was
        incomplete or not consistently maintained.

The issue of copyright was raised by one person.

Hope this helps those who expressed an interest in the results
for my questions, and again thanks to all who took the time
to answer. CRIS
