I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has developed a "weeding policy" for their collection - preferably one that addresses specific types of material such as directories (American Art Directory, International Directory of the Arts, etc.) or other types of directories that take up so much space. I am trying to create more shelf space in our badly overcrowded stacks. I am planning to store any circulating material that has not been checked out for the last 20 years. Does anyone know of any guidelines for such a project or may have developed some themselves? Please respond to the list - it may generate some interesting discussions! :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Lynne Woodruff Manager of Art Information Services Art Library University of Maryland College Park, MD 20742 301-405-9065 [log in to unmask] ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
