Due to the transition between museum directors, the conference entitled
ANDY WARHOL'S SEX! has been postponed from Spring 1997 to Fall 1997. The
deadline for proposal submissions has also been extended -- to December
31, 1996.

While sexuality in Warhol's work has been the subject of some preliminary
scholarly inquiry, this conference will explore the topic in fuller detail
and from a variety of viewpoints. Topics might include: the gay male
creative tradition; sexual themes in Warhol's paintings, drawings and
films; Warhol's attitudes towards gender and sexuality; the convergence of
sexuality with popular culture; and the legacy of these ideas in art and
culture.

The Andy Warhol Museum is one of the largest single-artist museums in the
world and houses a vast collection of art and archival material from all
periods of the artist's life. Conference participants will be encourage
to make use of the museum's extensive collections in advance and during
the conference.

Send a letter of intent and abstract (500 words maximum) by December
