You might want to look at jobs that are temporary--grant-funded or special
projects or replacements for sabbaticals or maternity or whatever--or jobs
on shifts outside normal business hours. My first professional job took me
almost a year to find. The hours were Sunday-Thursday, 1:30-10:30 p.m. I
stuck it out for two years and got enough experience to make the next round
of job-seeking much easier.
