The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the first art school and
museum, seeks candidates for the position of Librarian.  This is an
opportunity for a creative, motivated librarian who is experienced
and conversant with contemporary technology.  The Librarian is responsible
for all aspects of the operation of the library to ensure that it
supports the research and educational mission of both the school and
the museum.  The library consists of 30,000 circulating volumes, 85
periodical subscriptions, 20,000 slides and a unique collection of
biographical material on contemporary artists.

Qualifications:  MLS from an ALA accredited program.  Undergraduate
degree in Art History, Studio Art or related humanities.  Three to
five years professional experience in an academic art library, including
significant management,technical services, collection development and
cataloguing experience.  Knowledge of electronic information tools and
computerized library systems.  Strong service orientation and interpersonal
skills.
