(SIL) is seeking an experienced Reference Librarian,
GS-1410-9 - $31,239 year at our Cooper-Hewitt Branch
Library in New York, NY.  Duties: provides a broad array of
reference services in the subject areas covered by the
museum and other organizational units served by the branch.
Prepares general and selective bibliographies as required.
Performs comprehensive bibliographic searches.
Responsible for collection development and maintenance.
Participates in special projects and committees as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:  Prof. knowledge of the theories,
principles, practices, and techniques of librarianship.
Knowledge of Art History or specialized fields such as Fine
Arts and Decorative Arts.  Experience in searching
computerized data bases and systems.  Knowledge of printed
or electronic bibliographic tools such as Art Index, Social
Science Index and Dissertation Abstracts sufficient to
provide reference and research services and collection
