It must be the weather -- we have had a person (persons?) who must be
making a collection of the Absolut Vodka ads featuring artists, that are
located on the back cover of several art magazines such as ArtNews.
He/she has even gone back into our bound volumes to "collect". It is
horrible, and sometimes the razor manages to slit some surrounding pages
also. The only solution we have come up with is pretty drastic, but we
could think of no other. We are putting a large X on the Absolut ad page
with magic marker so that its collectibility is eliminated but you can
still see the ad picture clearly enough to appreciate it. We also added a
little sticker with the note "defaced to avoid theft" in order to
forestall inquiries by patrons.
