Dear Colleagues: One of our MA students needs help finding material
on his chosen dissertation topic: a comparison of images used to
advertise cosmetics to the public and images used to promote
topical pharmacological creams to doctors. Suggested keywords
include "personal appearance", "self-concept", "ugliness" but all
related specifically to skin disease/dermatology and its presentation
in art/advertising. We've exhausted ABM, Art Index, Design & Applied
Arts Index, Medline and various indexes to marketing/advertising
journals. He's made useful contacts with various medical
organizations and the Wellcome Institute Library in London.

But we're finding very little. Does anyone out there have any other
ideas? If so, please reply to me directly as we're still having
problems with our connections to ARLIS-L and, whilst I can send
messages to you, I can't receive the daily discussions. Maddening!

Thanks for any help or advice which might be provided.

Mary
