William Treese, former Head of the UCSB Arts Library and Art Librarian, died
yesterday morning, April 2, after a long struggle with cancer.  He was an
active member of ARLIS/NA over the years and was instrumental in forming
the unique and exceptional Art Exhibition Catalog Collection at UCSB.  Bill
retired from UCSB in 1991 after 25 years of service.  There are no
services planned.  Colleagues and friends may wish to write Bill's wife,
Caroline Treese, at 595 Halkirk Street, Santa Barbara, CA  93110.
