----------------------------Original message----------------------------
For a proposed conference session on electronic reference services, I
would be interested in hearing from anyone who is actively involved in
such a program at their library/institution.

The National Museum of American Art has been sponsoring an electronic
art reference service for the last 2 1/2 years; the service now averages
400-500/questions/month. Who else is running a similar service and how
do the services compare? As more and more people expect to get their
information electronically, I am interested in exploring changes in
traditional library reference in the electronic environment--models for
electronic reference service, staffing requirements, the reference
search, etc.

If you are involved in such a service, briefly describe the scope of the
service. E-mail directly to: [log in to unmask] Thank you.
