----------------------------Original message---------------------------- We will have two computers in the Balboa Room available for people to check their email or explore the net. This is a first for our conference and funding from the University of Florida Foundation, Ebsco, and Blackwell North America has made this possible (computer and phone line rentals). While we realize that two computers is not much, it's a good start and something to build upon for future conferences. Several people have volunteered to help out but we can always use more volunteers. I'll be loading software on Friday (I'll need to be finished by 3pm), and if anyone else is around (and not otherwise occupied) I could use a hand or two (especially when it comes to configuring TCP/IP for the mac - I'm an ibm person). Most everyone who has volunteered is not arriving until Saturday or Sunday. If you're available to help drop by on Friday or leave me a message at the desk - I won't be checking my email for too much longer this week as I leave soon for Miami. The Florida Information Resource Network has provided us with telnet capabilities (local dialins) as has the Tampa Bay Library Consortium and Cybergate, Inc. (a local internet provider) has given us slip accounts (and their tech support will walk us through setup over the phone) so we should have a little something for everyone. Tentative Hours: Saturday April 27: 8am - 3:30pm (the room is needed for a meeting at 3:30) Sunday April 28: 8am - 5pm Monday April 29: 8am - 5pm Tuesday April 30: 8am - 5pm We might have hours on Friday afternoon and Wednesday morning - we'll need to see how things go......updated information will be available at the registration desk. -------------------- Anne Ross, Head Fine Arts/Audio-Visual Depts.
