----------------------------Original message---------------------------- On 14 March, my computer, scanner, monitor, printer and keyboard were stolen with 10 years of work, two hard disks, backup diskettes and the latest issue of Umbrella almost ready for the printer. As a result, all art libraries and art librarians who subscribe to Umbrella, please be aware that Umbrella, vol. 19, no. 1 will not be out until late April or early May--in other words, after Miami. Please realize that I must reconstitute not only my life but my records, not only my words but Umbrella's latest issue, which has taken 3 months to write. I have lost 3000 names and addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, book artist addresses, personal addresses, and much more. It was a vindictive, vengeful act by a criminal mind, that of my neighbor, a drug dealer and an incorrigible criminal. There is no evidence, so there are no arrests. I must tell you that I do hope this message gets to all my subscribers as a courtesy. It will save a great deal of anguish on my part and a great deal of anxiety on the part of Periodical Departments in major and minor institutions who subscribe to my newsletter. I would appreciate greatly that all members of ARLIS who have corresponded with me in the past have at least the satisfaction of knowing that the Directory, in some part, has correct addresses and email addresses for me.. I would appreciate any changes to be sent to me via email or to my address. But I thank you all. I do hope to see you in Miami, if I live that long. This has been a very trying period. Judith
