Hello Judy,
I can't speak directly to FIDER accreditation policies, but for
similar types of accreditation visits from NASAD, the National
Association for Schools of Art & Design, I have provided information
on scope and purpose of collections, numbers held and staff
credentials. For example, within the Department of Art, I manage
the slide and videotape collections and I provided a brief summary
of the nature of the collection (teaching resource used in all levels
of art history and studio classes with both major monuments and
special topics coverage based on art historical chronology). I also
listed the total holdings, 120,000 slides and 150 videotapes. I also
briefly summarized the number of staff, both full-time and work-study
student hours per week, and credentials of full-time staff including
degrees held and number of years of experience. I also included annual
budget information and statistics on circulation and acquisition from my
annual reports.

We were also asked to obtain information from our central library
as to both visual and textual resources: total number of volumes,
total number of audiovisual resources, annual budget allocated to
art purchases etc. The central library has this information readily
available in our case and it was simply a matter of asking for a copy
of the statistics for that year. If you have book materials in your
collection as well as audiovisual materials, you should probably
provide statistics for both.

A notebook was provided to the accrediting body about 6 weeks before
the actual visit. This material included information on the entire
department and its programs as well as general information on the
university. Each section was indexed and followed a checklist provided
by the accrediting body.

At the time of the actual visit, a review team visited our facility
for 3 days and at one point during the visit, the team visited the
slide library and talked with me and they did actually open some of
the slide cabinets and look at the filing system, etc. The questions
asked were fairly general in nature as most of the information was
provided in the notebook.

Following the visit, the accreditation review team wrote a report
which was presented to the department and to the dean of our college.
We were accredited and have maintained the accreditation through
subsequent reviews.

I hope this information in helpful.
