The Association of Research Libraries Office of Management Services
(ARL/OMS) and DORAL announce a special 3-day institute for Library
Development Officers.

OMS/DORAL Management Skills Institute for Library Development Officers
Boulder, Colorado
October 21-23, 1996

Designed specifically for fund-raisers at research and academic libraries
who have 3 years or less experience, this Institute will help these
fund-raisers acquire, develop, and refine the skills to meet their
development responsibilities. The program will alternate seminars on
development issues with workshop sessions on the management skills related
to those issues.

STAFF:
Maureen Sullivan, OMS Organizational Development Consultant, will conduct
the management skills workshop sessions.

Three DORAL members who are recognized experts in fund-raising will conduct
the development issues seminars. They are:

Joan M Hood, Director of Development and Public Affairs for the University
of Illinois Library System at Urbana-Champaign, and international
consultant;

Bill Mott, former Director of Development for Vanderbilt University
Library, currently the principal in the consulting firm, Library Funding
Associates; and

Richard White, certified fund-raising executive (CFRE) and Director of
Development for Libraries and Information Technology at Emory University.

Enjoy this valuable networking opportunity with the "experts" and your peers.
