The Academic Library Division is looking for a person to serve as the Vice-Moderator for 2024 and Moderator for 2025. The Academic Library Division is the largest group within ARLIS/NA, with nearly 450 members. The Division was established in 1975, and seeks to identify and promote issues of interest to art librarians working in institutions of higher education.
 
Division Mission
 
The purpose of the Academic Library Division is to improve resources and services for art librarianship within academic and research libraries and to promote the knowledge and awareness of its members. The Division fulfills its purpose by sharing ideas and research at formal programs during the Society's annual conference and by submitting articles and updates to Society publications.
 
Role and Requirements of the Vice-Moderator/Moderator:
 
The Vice-Moderator and Moderator collaborate to develop programming relevant to the Division in support of the mission, with the Moderator generally taking the lead as the primary facilitator. Other division members are often involved to help deliver programming or write for Society publications.
 
Ideally, the person in this role should be able to attend the Academic Library Division meeting held around the ARLIS/NA Annual Conference for the two years of holding this leadership position, and chair the meeting during the year as moderator. Other communications or programming may happen over email or through web meetings. Other expectations include membership emails, completing division reports for the Society, and sharing updates on the Academic Library Division group in the ARLIS/NA Commons.
