Dear all (with apologies for cross-posting),
The ARLIS Conference Working Party 2024 are pleased to announce details of the ARLIS UK & Ireland Annual Conference 2024, to be held at Central Saint Martins, University of London, Granary Square, King's Cross, London, from 2-4 July 2024.
With the title Artificial Visions: Navigating the Intersection of AI and Art Libraries, we are offering a space to explore the playful, critical and very human ways in which art librarians are adapting in the world of artificial intelligence. We invite contributors to investigate the role of emerging technologies (including machine learning, generative AI, and natural language processing) in the context of art and design libraries and archives.
We attach a Call for Contributors to the Conference. We're excited about hosting and discussing a wide range of critical and practical perspectives on our themes from librarians and archivists, artists, curators, and other practitioners, particularly those from under-represented and marginalised communities and sectors, who are engaging with the conference themes in their thinking and their work, and we hope you will feel inspired to participate. There are a number of different ways you can present your ideas, as you will see.
The deadline for proposals is March 8 2024. We very much look forward to hearing from you.
Best wishes
ARLIS Conference 2024 Working Party
