is shaping a better tomorrow. The USF Libraries invite you to join our St. Petersburg-based team of Research and Instruction (R&I) Librarians to support our exceptionally talented faculty and students in the areas of natural sciences and mathematics. We are
looking for a forward-thinking, collegial librarian to join our R&I team of problem-solvers who work to advance student and faculty success. We encourage applications from candidates who currently possess or demonstrate an interest in serving as a liaison
to STEM-related fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, or mathematics. The incumbent may serve as liaison to other areas identified by need and background. In addition, this librarian will support data visualization efforts by students and faculty on
the St. Petersburg campus across colleges and disciplines. Please note that a desire to learn new skills is highly valued by our organization and training will be available for those who wish to develop their areas of expertise.
R&I Librarians participate in the library’s information literacy instruction initiatives and support high impact practices in courses and university initiatives.
The STEAM Librarian will join a team of creative and forward-thinking colleagues who partner with faculty in their teaching and research, and work with students in learning the information and data visualization tools and skills needed to excel in college
and the workforce. The USF Libraries are committed to providing the professional development necessary for librarians to develop and grow their expertise in technical skills as well as in their disciplinary areas of interest.

to the Assistant Director for Research & Instruction at the Nelson Poynter Memorial Library on the St. Petersburg campus and is a member of the USF Libraries Faculty.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Actively engage with faculty, researchers, and students to understand their research and instruction needs, build collaborations, and promote library services

Collaborate with USF Libraries Research & Instruction colleagues located on the three USF campuses on various departmental initiatives such as assessment, outreach,
library instruction, and supporting faculty or student research

Provide individual and small group consultations, workshops, and instruction in information, resource, and software use, and support those who seek to share data
in visually compelling ways and to communicate using data

Develop a focused program of high-quality research and creative accomplishments required for promotion

Actively participate and demonstrate leadership in professional responsibilities that serve the USF Libraries, University, profession,
and community
To be successful in this position, candidates will need:
Minimum Qualifications:

An ALA accredited master’s degree in Library and Information Science earned by the appointment date.
Preferred Qualifications:
