literary and artistic artifacts, the Penn Libraries documents a wealth of social and historical periods, bringing scholarship to life at the University and in the various communities it serves.
Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Director, the Fine Arts Librarian is a subject specialist and first point of contact for reference questions, workshops, instruction, and
consultations on the contemporary and historical aspects of art, architecture, city and regional planning, historic preservation, landscape architecture, studio art, and urban spatial analytics at the University of Pennsylvania. The Librarian facilitates 3D
scanning at Fisher Fine Arts Library, supervises student workers who support 3D scanning requests, and works collaboratively with colleagues across the whole of the Penn Libraries. Active in outreach, the Fine Arts Librarian develops and implements specialized
workshops on topics such as citation management, plagiarism, and research skills in service to the Stuart Weitzman School of Design, the Department of the History of Art, and, more broadly, the School of Arts and Sciences. The Librarian, in collaboration with
Assistant Director and Director, participates in building Fisher collections and exhibitions planning. The Librarian works collaboratively with colleagues at the Museum and Music Library and takes part in Academic Engagement initiatives including support for
scholarly publishing. This position participates in assessment related to ongoing evaluation and improvement of existing access and research services in Fisher and participates in Libraries-wide task forces and committees as well as appropriate professional
associations.
