Dear colleagues,

Join the Frick Art Reference Library for an introduction to critical information literacy with Eamon Tewell, Head of Research Support and Outreach at the Columbia University Libraries. What is critical information literacy? How is it used to examine and address injustices in libraries and information systems? How can it inform the study of art and art history? By recognizing the potential of education for creating social change, critical information literacy provides a lens to examine racism, patriarchy, sexism, imperialism in information classification systems, art history and literature canons, online search, and library spaces and services. Learn how library and information workers, researchers, and artists can apply this theory and practice to challenge inequities and the status quo.
