Greetings all-- one of the staff members at the University found blueprints of his house that were part of the kinds of drawings you could order through newspapers, especially in post war years. I have actually been able to find a little information ( biographical and several short articles)on the architect, a Rudolph Matern, who also published books on prefabrication. But I am hard pressed to find any information on the whole idea of publishing such plans in newspapers. I know it is a logical extension of the house plan books. But wondering if any has seen anything on why, when and how all this came into being.......

An interesting question for sure......

Best, Barbara Opar
