Greetings, Auction Catalog fans!

This is a reminder to join us as we host the ARLIS/NA Auction Catalogs SIG meeting on May 3rd at 11am ET.

To register to attend the SIG meeting, please fill out this brief RSVP form: Link to Register

Once you’ve registered, you’ll receive the virtual meeting details by email before the meeting.

Our meeting format will be a free-form discussion starting off with the topic of collaboration: How can libraries, large and small, work together to ensure that auction information remains consistently and freely accessible?  Eric Wolf, Head Librarian with the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, will get the conversation going by reporting on his initiative, in partnership with the Thomas J. Watson library, to capture and catalog hundreds of born-digital catalogs. And then … we’d love to hear from you with whatever updates or topics are on your minds!

More information about the Auction Catalogs SIG and how to subscribe to the Humanities Commons group page are below.

Please do join us to hear from your fellow auction catalog aficionados and be a part of the conversation.

We look forward to a lively discussion!

Your Auction Catalogs SIG co-coordinators,

Charlotte DonVito, National Gallery of Art

Tina Lidogoster, Thomas J. Watson Library, The Metropolitan Museum of Art

Auction Catalogs SIG

The Auction Catalogs SIG serves as a forum for discussion on all things auction catalog-related – acquiring, cataloging, archiving and providing access to print, digitized, and born digital auction catalogs and the related materials that document auction sales. Current topics of interest to the group include: using emerging technology for capturing and archiving online catalogs, cooperative projects (such as the shared price list project for archiving online price lists), and best practices for using the SCIPIO database and for applying RDA to cataloging auction catalogs and related materials.
