Hello Kai, I think what Frey says is a good solution. We currently have a faculty/staff art exhibition in our library lobby in honor of National Library Week. Many objects are displayed in locked cases. The pictures that are hanging have temporary magnetic strips on the back so that the alarm will sound if they are taken out. I hope that this helps. I think the impetus was placed on me as the artist to provide insurance (which means it wasn't insured 😅) If you can provide something sturdy to lock up the art and make it a nuisance to take, that would be helpful! I've seen art locked in cases, or frames locked onto hanging chain.
