Hi Anna and all,

In case you need a trick to repeatedly call a number that’s always busy so to have a chance to get the line when it’s available, I wrote a script for iPhone that does just that. It’s a workaround as it’s technically not possible to auto-call on iPhone, but it works well for the purpose. I’m sure there’s something similar if you have an android phone.

If you need it I can send it privately or post it here.

Sorry you are experiencing this, Anna!

I looked into this (although I did finally get mine).

If you've already applied, you can make an appointment within 5 days of your international travel for an IN-PERSON visit to one of the passport centers.

Sadly, the passport centers are in limited places for most of the United States. For you, Anna, the closest ones are in Chicago and Minneapolis.

However, your number is correct, and people call it multiple times to get through the busy signal to the actual system.

Good luck!!!!

Hi ARLIS,

I renewed my passport online in January and got a message on 1/31 that it was in-process and would take 6-9 weeks (although I see now that www.travel.state.gov lists processing times as 10-13 weeks). I’m getting nervous as there’s been no status update; I called to expedite but the “urgent travel service” 877-487-2778 number is out of service.

Does anyone have any insights? Am I totally in a pickle? Is anyone else in a similar situation?

All best,

Anna
