Dear colleagues,
I write to remind you that the ARLIS/NA sponsored session at the 111th Annual Conference of the College Art Association will be held at the Hilton New York Midtown in the Grand Ballroom West tomorrow, Friday, February 17th,
from 4:30-6:00.
This year’s topic is “Preserving Auction Information and Ephemera in a Post-Print Catalogue Era”.
The panel will consist of Ann-Marie Richard, Director of Sotheby’s Institute New York presenting the “End User’s Perspective”,
myself presenting our efforts and collaborations aimed at preserving ephemeral digital information on sales, followed by a response from Emily Walz, Librarian, The Miriam & Ira D. Wallach Division of Art, Prints, and Photographs at the
New York Public Library. Time will be reserved for a roundtable discussion of problems and solutions concerning the scholarly record for auction sales in a world largely without traditional printed auction catalogues.
Hope to see you there.
All best,
Eric
