Dear colleagues,

 

I write to remind you that the ARLIS/NA sponsored session at the 111^th Annual Conference of the College Art Association will be held at the Hilton New York Midtown in the Grand Ballroom West tomorrow, Friday, February 17^th, from 4:30-6:00.

 

This year’s topic is “Preserving Auction Information and Ephemera in a Post-Print Catalogue Era”.

 

The panel will consist of Ann-Marie Richard, Director of Sotheby’s Institute New York presenting the “End User’s Perspective”,

myself presenting our efforts and collaborations aimed at preserving ephemeral digital information on sales, followed by a response from Emily Walz, Librarian, The Miriam & Ira D. Wallach Division of Art, Prints, and Photographs at the New York Public Library. Time will be reserved for a roundtable discussion of problems and solutions concerning the scholarly record for auction sales in a world largely without traditional printed auction catalogues.
